Senior Business Controller (Freelance or Outsourcing)

Your Responsibilities

As Senior Business Controller, you will be responsible for the financial follow-up of several departments and act as a trusted advisor to management.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and coordinating annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Monitoring financial performance and analyzing variances between actuals, budgets and forecasts
• Challenging budget assumptions and requests for additional funding
• Identifying the drivers behind financial deviations and providing clear recommendations
• Explaining financial results and trends to management
• Partnering closely with department heads and senior stakeholders to understand business developments
• Assessing the financial impact of operational and strategic initiatives
• Working with SAP controlling structures such as cost centers, profit centers, internal orders and WBS elements
• Delivering reliable reporting and actionable financial insights to support decision-making

YER is currently looking for an experienced Senior Business Controller / Finance Business Partner for a challenging temporary assignment within a leading organization active in the utilities and infrastructure sector.

The assignment is located in Brussels with two days homeworking. You will be on mission for 6 months (extension possible).

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Management
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Controlling, Financial Controlling or Finance Business Partnering
• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and variance analysis
• Experience within large and complex organizations
• Advanced Excel skills
• Proven experience with SAP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work independently and challenge stakeholders constructively
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in Dutch or French, with a good working knowledge of the other national language
